How Jountain collects, uses, and shares information when you search for work, apply, take a skills screen, or post a role.

Who this covers

This policy applies to people who browse Jountain, create an account, apply to jobs, take a skills screen, post roles, or otherwise use jountain.dev and related Jountain services.

What we collect

We collect information you give us: name, email, password (stored as a hash), phone, location, headline, about text, website, resume file and filename, skills, work-style preferences, and other profile fields you save.

When you apply, we collect the application details you submit (including resume text or file name, work-authorization and visa-sponsorship answers, and optional cover letter or LinkedIn URL). When a role uses an engineering screen, we may collect a GitHub repository URL you provide.

When you take a skills screen — from the Assessments catalog or as part of a job application — we store that you completed that kind of screen, when you completed it, and any badge on your profile. We may store answers or recordings you submit during a screen (including short written or voice responses where the screen asks for them).

If you sign in with Google, we receive the name, email, and profile photo Google shares with us. We do not request Google contacts.

We also collect technical data needed to run the product: sign-in cookies, approximate request metadata, and how you use Jountain (for example, which pages you open) so we can keep the service reliable and useful.

How we use information

We use this information to operate your account, show jobs and recommendations, process applications, run skills screens, show completed-assessment badges, let employers review applications for roles they posted, and communicate about your use of Jountain.

We do not sell your personal information.

Skills screens and badges

Jountain skills screens exist so hiring teams can filter for basic role-related skill. Completing a screen of a given kind (for example, a brand or backend screen) creates a badge on your profile. If you later apply to a job that uses that same kind of screen, we may skip the assessment intro and treat the application as complete for that step.

Employers who posted a role with a screen may see that you completed the matching screen and, where the product allows, material from that screen in connection with your application. Completing a screen can improve the chance your application is treated as finished and reviewable. It is not a job offer, a rank, or a guarantee that you will be hired.

Who we share with

Employers and company users who posted a job you applied to receive the application information you submitted for that role, and whether you completed a matching skills screen.

Service providers we use to host, authenticate, or operate Jountain (for example Google, if you choose Google sign-in) process data only as needed to provide that service.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect Jountain, our users, or the public.

Cookies and sign-in

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your session. You can sign out from your account menu. Blocking cookies may prevent you from staying logged in.

Retention and your choices

We keep account, application, and assessment records for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate hiring workflows for roles you applied to. You may update profile fields, resume, and related information from your profile. To request deletion of your account or assessment records, contact us at office@jountain.com.

Security

No transmission over the internet is completely secure. We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold, including hashing passwords and limiting access to account data. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

Changes

We may update this policy as Jountain changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page.
